CJA email engagement vanishes under a line-of-business filter
AJO email opens and clicks exist, yet a CJA line-of-business filter makes them disappear. Trace which identifiers actually reach tracking events before persisting profile context.

Opens and clicks appear in CJA until a line-of-business dimension is applied. An Experience League discussion reports this exact symptom. The tempting fix is to persist a person’s most recent line of business, but that can assign engagement in a later journey to the wrong business.
Follow one message across datasets
Pick a delivery with a known open. Find its feedback and tracking rows, then compare message execution, journey and campaign identifiers with the dimensions used in the CJA filter. Adobe’s AJO dataset query examples show that feedback and tracking are separate records. Do not assume a custom line-of-business field is present on both merely because a message identifier is.
Test the filter at event grain
Build a small reconciliation: all opens, opens with the chosen business value, and opens without it. Check whether the business value comes from the same message execution or from person-level persistence. Test a customer who receives messages from two businesses in sequence; an unbounded previous-value rule should fail that test.
Choose a bounded attribution rule
If the engagement event lacks the business context, join through a stable message key or controlled lookup whose uniqueness and timing are verified. Record how late tracking events are handled. Adobe’s AJO and CJA integration guidance is the baseline for the reporting setup.
Adovo’s view
A filter is a claim about the event, not a convenient memory of the person. If a business label cannot be tied to the message that earned the click, the report is asking the data to say more than it knows.
