Adobe Web SDK network errors need a request-level diagnosis

Triage Web SDK sendEvent failures, identity warnings, and noisy console errors.

October 30, 2026

A Web SDK implementation can fill the console with ActivityCollector failures, sendEvent network errors, and missing-identity-cookie warnings. An open Adobe Alloy issue asks how to resolve or suppress this mix. These messages share a console, not necessarily a root cause. Suppressing them before tracing the request can hide lost measurement.

Start with one failed event

Reproduce a specific page action with browser network logging and capture the request URL, status or transport error, initiator, timing, and response. Note whether the request was blocked before the Edge Network, rejected by an intermediary, or answered by Adobe. Adobe's sendEvent documentation establishes the command's role and the need to configure the instance first. Compare a successful event from the same page and session.

Keep identity and delivery questions separate

A missing identity cookie warning warrants its own check of consent state, cookie domain, browser behavior, and whether an identity response was obtained. It does not by itself explain every failed send. Test one consenting browser and one non-consenting browser according to your implementation's policy. Avoid turning on Web SDK debugEnabled for all production visitors: Adobe's debug guidance says that setting enables debugging site-wide.

Measure the business consequence

Count failed event requests by page, browser, consent state, and deployment. Compare event receipt with the expected user action before estimating lost reporting. Ask for a small diagnostic matrix and a verified fix for the failing class, then decide whether remaining messages are operational noise.

Adovo’s view

Console volume is not the metric; missing decisions are. One traced request can separate an Edge failure, a browser block, and a consent outcome. Silence comes after evidence, not before it.
